One of two Group status features on the Breeders Classic Day card, the $150,000 Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) is set to run as Randwick Race 6 at 3:45pm (AEDT).

A final field of nine hopefuls are in the mix for the early autumn racing carnival event including all-in favourite for the $750,000 Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on March 4 – Omei Sword.

The Chris Waller-trained High Chaparral filly races for the first time since her second to Astern at Rosehill in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) back in September.

Prior to that the promising youngster won the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) at Randwick, a track and distance she returns to first-up on Saturday.

Omei Sword has trialled twice leading up to her highly-anticipated return and is sure to start near the top of betting as she also sits as the current $9 favourite in futures Australian Guineas odds at Ladbrokes.com.au.

The other key Australian Guineas nominated galloper lining-up in the Eskimo Prince Stakes field this season is the fellow Waller-trained Comin’ Through.

The colt is a beautifully-bred son of Fastnet Rock and was last seek winning the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) over the mile at Flemington on Derby Day.

Comin’ Through is listed as a $10 hope in pre-field Australian Guineas betting and will improve on whatever he does first-up in the Eskimo Prince as he gets out over further distance over the autumn.

The other three-year-old who won his last start is the John O’Shea-trained Bryneich.

The Godolphin-raced Lonhro colt posted a 1250m Canterbury win on January 20 in a Benchmark 70 by a runaway four and a half-lengths.

He rises notably in class on Saturday and could find the drop in distance a little sharp, but is likely to be kept safe in betting by the bookmakers.

O’Shea has also accepted for stablemate Bezel who jumps from barrier four, one on the inside of Bryneich.

James Doyle has the first-up ride on the Street Cry colt who has won three of his five career starts to date.

Yet to finish outside the money, Bezel was last seen running third beaten only a quarter-length by Comin’ Through in the Carbine Club Stakes on October 29 during the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
