Sydney trainer Tim Martin believes his dour filly Fibrillation is ready to tackle the Group 1 Queensland Oaks at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The Diatribe filly who is coming off a win against the older horses in the Nepean Handicap (1800m), left for Brisbane on Tuesday night.

Martin confirmed that Fibrillation has overcome the hoof issues that not only threatened her tilt at the Oaks but also her career.

“Her feet haven’t looked back. She’ll race in standard race plates again on Saturday. Fitness won’t be an excuse come Saturday,” Martin said.

Fibrillation was given a solid work out on the course proper at Rosehill on Saturday morning, and was put through light work on Tuesday morning, with Martin proclaiming his job was done.

“She’s ready to roll. Barring the dramas we had leading into her Rosehill run, everything has gone to plan and she hasn’t missed a beat,” Martin said.

Martin was also pleased that his filly managed to pull out a win on a dry surface.

“Everyone had her down as a wet tracker but she put an end to that at Rosehill. There’s no doubt she loves a heavy track but she showed she can still perform when the surface is firmer,” said Martin.

The form around Fibrillation was franked at the weekend when The Verminator, who finished second to Fibrillation at her last start, came out and won at Rosehill.

Fibrillation finished fourth in the AJC Oaks last month after running second in both the Keith Nolan Classic and the Vinery Stud Stakes. She will be the only horse in the Queensland Oaks that ran in the AJC Oaks.
