Eleven horses have been confirmed in the final field for Saturday’s Listed Tattersall’s Mile (1600m) at Doomben Racecourse, including several live chances and plenty of value for punters.

Crack Me Up remains an outright $2.35 favourite in 2017 Tattersall’s Mile betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Sheiswhatsheis ($2.80), Colour Charge and Cruising Speed; currently sharing the third line at generous $10 quotes.

Will Crack Me Up justify favouritism and win the 2017 Tattersall’s Mile, or will one of his rivals post an upset?

Crack Me Up ($2.35)

Crack Me Up has found outstanding form through his recent starts and is undoubtedly the horse to beat in the 2017 Tattersall’s Mile. The Mossman gelding resumed for a credible fourth in the Listed Queensland Day Stakes (1340m) on May 13^th, but simply failed to fire when twelfth in the Group 3 Fred Best Classic (1400m) on May 27^th. Savaging the line for second behind Religify in the Listed Wayne Wilson Mile (1600m) on June 10^th, Crack Me Up was too good for a smart field of three-year-olds in the Group 3 Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m) last time out and will be tough to beat once more in the Tattersall’s Mile.

Spur Le Jouer ($21)

Spur Le Jouer has been a strong and consistent performer this time in and is far better than his $21 quote suggests. Spur Le Jouer resumed for third in the One Zero Communications BM75 (1200m) on June 4^th, before flying home to win the Winter Provincial Sprinters Final (1200m) on July 1^st. Last seen finishing second behind Aomen in the Neptune Pumps For Pools BM90 (1400m), the Jet Spur gelding should find a good position behind the early pace from his wide draw and will look to swoop the field late. He clearly faces a step up in class into this race, but will also enjoy an increase in distance.

Pindan Pearl ($13)

Pindan Pearl will likely have her final career start in the Tattersall’s Mile and she is drawn to get an ideal run in transit, with in-form hoop Jim Byrne in the saddle. The Testa Rossa mare has been a strong and consistent performer for Tony Gollan this time in; finishing sixth in the Listed Tattersall’s Club Members’ Handicap (1600m) on May 13^th and fifth in the Listed Spear Chief Quality (1630m) before running on well for fourth in the Listed GH Mumm Quality (1615m). Having finished second in the Brett Whalley & Co Handicap (1640m) a fortnight ago, Pindan Pearl is rock-hard fit and primed for another big run.
