Matt Laurie‘s Vinery Stud Stakes winning filly Treasurethe Moment is odds-on favourite in 2025 Australian Oaks betting to keep the Group 1 wins going this weekend in Sydney.

The autumn racing action hits its pinnacle on Saturday with Royal Randwick host to four elite levels on Day 2 of The Championships including the Group 1 $1 million Australian Oaks (2400m) for the fillies.
Dominating the Australian Oaks odds at a $1.60 odds-on quote through Ladbrokes.com.au is Treasurethe Moment who chases her impressive eighth straight victory.
The spring’s VRC Oaks champ is proven at the distance and has been the picture of consistency again this prep.
Laurie’s stable ace was back in Group 1 winning form third-up in the rescheduled Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) last Tuesday with the daughter of Alabama Express winning the Rosehill event in style.
The Vinery has been a strong form race to follow into the ATC Oaks field in recent years with Hungry Heart (2021) the last to do the double.
Mornington horseman Laurie meanwhile chases his third Group 1 success in just one week after Saturday’s Inglis Sires’ was won by the stables class two-year-old Vinrock.
Treasurethe Moment drew well in gate two for Saturday’s 10-filly ATC Oaks field with dual winning jockey Damian Lane, who won back-to-back aboard El Patroness (2023) and Pennyweka (2024), retaining the ride.
The danger to Treasurethe Moment extending her picket fence lies in Kiwi raider Leica Lucy who is the next best in Australian Oaks betting at $4.80 this season travelling down under off some stellar form back in New Zealand.
The visiting New Zealand fillies have a lovely record in the Australian Oaks including two wins in the past three years by the aforementioned El Patroness and Pennyweka in 23 and 24.
Pennyweka completed the NZ Oaks – ATC Oaks double two years ago and there is money for Leica Lucy, officially trained down under by Chris Waller, to be the next.
The ultra-consistent daughter of Derryn has won six of her seven career starts including her past five straight across the Tasman after saluting as the odds-on fancy in the Group 1 NZ Oaks over this distance at Trentham on March 22.
Waller has prepared four previous Australian Oaks winning fillies, the latest of which was Hungry Heart in 2021, and looks a genuine chance to secure a fifth success on the weekend with Leica Lucy jumping from barrier one aided by the booking of master hoop James McDonald.
Waller also saddles-up the current $8 third elect Belle Detelle from barrier seven with Tommy Berry aboard the in-form daughter of Zed who is after a hat-trick.
She rose notably in grade last Saturday and was good winning the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m) to earn a late call-up into the Oaks field.
If successful again seven days on, she will become the first to do the double since Colette (2020).
Verona Rose in the outside alley (10) is the last of the fillies currently under $10 for the win in the ATC Oaks odds with Gary Portelli‘s recent Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic winner coming off a fourth in the Vinery.
For punters chasing the value that like the form out of the NZ Oaks, Pam Gerard brings across her runner-up in that mile and a half classic with Dubai Goldrush rated an $11 chance on Saturday to go one better in Sydney with Mark Zahra to ride.
The 2025 Asahi Super Dry Australian Oaks is set to run as Randwick Race 6 at 2:40pm (AEST) on Saturday’s card.
