Winx will make her first appearance of the New Year next Tuesday morning in a 900m trial on the course proper at Rosehill.
The jumpout will mark the start of the four-time Cox Plate winners final racing campaign, as trainer Chris Waller places Winx on the path to next month’s $250,000 Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) on February 16.
The seven-year-old superstar will run against a classy 10-horse field that includes 2017 Victoria Derby winner Ace High and Coolmore Legacy Stakes winner Alizee.
Waller will also keep a keen eye on fellow stablemates Performer, Endless Drama and The August.
The overall goal for Winx is to defend her title in the $4 million Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) on April 13, a race she has won on back-to-back occasions.
