After earlier concerns that the BMW Magic Millions Race Day 2011 would be rescheduled due to the heavy rainfall subsequent deterioration of the Gold Coast Racecourse, news today is that stewards have cleared the track and the brilliant line-up of races will run as planned tomorrow Saturday 15th of January.
The most recent update from Racing Queensland was at 11:30am this morning when after walking the Gold Coast track stewards deemed it safe for racing meaning the nine Magic Millions showdowns including the highly anticipated $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic can go ahead on Saturday.
The track rating is still a Heavy 10, but with no rainfall the RQL’s Chief Steward Wade Birch expects the track to be on the better side of Heavy tomorrow with the exception of the section between the 400m and the 250m.
“We would expect further improvement this afternoon and are hopeful of an upgrade in the morning,” Birch said.
The condition of the track is important for punters getting in on the elite Magic Millions betting action.
With the track still rain-affected punters should look at the Magic Millions fields and find the known mud-larks, horses proven on Heavy tracks, to back through Luxbet.
