Culminate 2010 Tristarc Stakes Winner – Caulfield Cup Day Race 9 Results

Culminate has beaten a top-class field of mares, all possible Tristarc Stakes winners, in Race 9 at Caulfield today with a narrow victory in the $180,000 Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m).

The Darren Weir-trained seven-year-old is a Kiwi-bred mare that was always going to be well suited to the soft ground at Caulfield today, which is why she had been backed late by the punters.

Still going out at a generous starting price of $9, Culminate got up on the inside after the early leaders include front-runner Live In Sin started to fade.

Ridden beautifully by Michael Waller, Culminate kicked back well and stormed home, holding on to beat a gallant runner-up Jersey Lily ($10) by a neck with Marquardt ($11) in third.

The final race to close proceedings at Caulfield Cup Day this afternoon is Race 10 – the $70,000 Carlton Draught Plate (1000m) set to jump at 5:30pm (AEDST).

There is still time to win big at Caulfield today, so head to Ladbrokes.com.au now to get great odds and give yourself one last chance to clean up.
