Parables Favourite in 2010 Furious Stakes Final Field

Peter Snowden’s classy filly Parables will start as the Ladbrokes.com.au favourite in this Saturday’s $175,000 Group 2 Furious Stakes (1400m) at Randwick.

Three-year-old Parables is attempting a clean sweep in the prestigious Princess Series at the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival, having already won the first leg in fine form last start.

Parables was the impressive winner of the Group 3 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) ahead of Solar Charged and will now contest the second leg of the series with the Furious Stakes this Saturday.

Following the Furious Stakes, the final two legs of the Princess Series are the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on September 18 and then the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on October 2.

The 2010 Furious Stakes final field features nine other fillies with other top picks being the Gai Waterhouse-trained More Strawberries who ran fourth in the Silver Shadow, Ambers Waltz and Divorces.

The John O’Shea-trained Ambers Waltz has drawn the prized barrier one for Saturday, the daughter of Danehill Dancer looking to return to the same form that saw her finish second to Crystal Lily in the Group 3 Sweet Embrace Stakes during the autumn.

Drawn mid-field in barrier five, Peter Snowden’s Divorces is another interesting contender seeking her maiden career win.

Scheduled as race four at Randwick for Saturday, the 2010 Sharp Furious Stakes is one of three Group status races at the meeting punters won’t want to miss.

The other two highlight events are the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) where Chris Waller’s stablemates Metal Bender and Triple Honour will face off again after finishing 1-2 in the Warwick Stakes, and the Group 3 Tramway Handicap (1400m) where a capacity field of fine gallopers including Jessicabeel, Sniper’s Bullet and Stryker will take to the track.

Don’t bet on any of these races at the TAB. Get a better price, larger range of betting options and a bigger payout come Saturday by placing your wagers online with Ladbrokes.com.au!
