Elliotto Wins R.J. Peters Stakes

Elliotto has won the Group Three R.J. Peters Stakes after a spectacular battle between the gelding and runner-up Colour Correct.

The 1500m race was the five year olds last chance to qualify for next Saturday?s Group One Railway Stakes.

Winning by a short head, the Neville Parnham-trained horse has been a surprise packet for the Perth campaign however the big win has now earned the horse over $400,000 in prize money.

Race favourite Grand Nirvana weaved through plenty of traffic to end with third place followed by Delta Gee in fourth position.

Although Colour Correct has not yet qualified for the $1 million Railway Stakes, the runner-up may still be in with a chance, depending on whether all the horses will accept their nominations for Saturday?s event.
