There was plenty of drama to this year’s 2023 Caulfield Guineas results with the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained winner Griff ($31) scoring a notable upset without protest despite the horse shifting out dramatically late in the finish. Griff made it three wins on the trot becoming the first three-year-old in 15 years to do the Stutt Stakes – Caulfield Guineas mile double when beating Veight ($14) by one and three-quarter lengths, while the previously undefeated Prelude winner Steparty ($3.70) ran third.

The Caulfield Guineas results are known as soon as the $3 million Group 1 mile clash for three-year-old runs on a Saturday in mid-October during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

More recent noteworthy Caulfield Guineas winners include Starspangledbanner (2009), Helmet (2011) and the $101 shock upset winner Mighty Boss (2017). In 2018 the Caulfield Guineas winner was The Autumn Sun who came off a lead-up win in the Golden Rose Stakes. He went on to also take out the Randwick Guineas – Rosehill Guineas double the following autumn.
The 2019 Caulfield Guineas Results saw Super Seth flash home late to beat star Queenslander Alligator Blood. The form of the 2019 race was franked when the runner-up Alligator Blood went on to win a host of races next prep including the Group 1 Australian Guineas at Flemington in 2020.
In 2020 the Caulfield Guineas results went the way of the punters with the favourite, Team Hawkes’ Golden Rose winner Ole Kirk, saluting.
The next year the Caulfield Guineas results saw another favourite salute in the Godolphin-raced Anamoe.
The Godolphin stable and trainer James Cummings go back-to-back in the 2022 Caulfield Guineas results with the victory by race favourite Golden Mile who went on to win Sydney’s Callander-Presnell Stakes at his next start.
