Four-year-old entire Count Of Limonade may have been scratched from last Saturday’s Group 2 Zipping Classic (2400m) due to a high temperature but he shouldn’t be discounted in the Listed Ballarat Cup (2200m) this Saturday because of it.

Trainer Mick Price is adamant the horse will be fighting fit when he lines up in the $200,000 feature race at Ballarat.

Speaking on RSN Radio, the trainer said Count Of Limonade has bounced back from the temperature that saw him miss out on the 2014 Zipping Classic and is 100 per cent match fit for the 2014 Ballarat Cup, which is the stand alone meeting this weekend.

“He’s got plenty of races to win he probably just needs Ballarat to be the right rating for him,” Price said.

“He’s bounced back well from his temperature, so we’ll definitely accept with him and [Dean] Yendall will ride.”

The final field and barrier draw for the Ballarat Cup will be released later on Wednesday. Price isn’t too concerned about which gate the Count will jump from, calling him “a little bit adaptable”. The galloper will need some cut in the ground to succeed but Price believes the Ballarat track will not be issue.

The Moe Cup (2025m) winner will likely settle in fifth or sixth place in the running depending on his gate, with no need to get too far back.

“[Glen] Boss rode him from a bad gate in the Moe Cup and had him there abouts, I think he’s adaptable,” he said.

Mick Price’s other nomination for the race, Tango’s Daughter, will not accept after failing to win from her four starts this preparation. Instead she’ll line up at Moonee Valley next week in a minor race.

The mare was consistent in her last three starts but couldn’t find the placings in either the Group 3 Eliza Park International Stakes (1600m) or Group 2 Momentum Energy Stakes (2000m).
