A drop back to Group 2 company at Caulfield on Saturday sees the talented Matt Laurie-trained Treasurethe Moment installed at a short odds-on quote to return to winning form in the 2026 Sunline Stakes.

Part of the bumper William Reid Stakes Day program, moved from The Valley this year with Moonee Valley undergoing upgrades, the Group 2 $300,000 Sunline Stakes (1600m) features a quality field of fillies and mares.
All the money in Sunline Stakes betting at Ladbrokes.com.au is landing on multiple Group 1 winning Alabama Express four-year-old Treasurethe Moment who races second-up as the $1.75 market mover.
It’s been a while between drinks for the dual Oaks champ whose last win came fresh in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield last August.
She’s had five runs since finishing in the first four on every occasion, most recently when kicking off her autumn campaign with a third to Pericles under a length beaten in the Futurity Stakes having run out of puff when looking to lead from barrier to box.
Sure to relish the mile now and down in grade, the spring’s Cox Plate third placegetter is drawn the rails with Daniel Stackhouse coming aboard for a very winnable assignment.
Two of her rivals join Treasurethe Moment under $10 in the latest Sunline Stakes odds with the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained On Display ($7) and Mark Walker‘s Kiwi expat Damask Rose ($8) considered the most likely to score an upset.
On Display will be ridden by Mark Zahra on the weekend with the four-year-old daughter of Fastnet Rock chasing her first ever second-up victory.
Catching the eye last Melbourne Cup Carnival when third to Pride Of Jenni in the Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) at HQ, she resumed in the Group 3 Shaftesbury Avenue Handicap on March 7 running third with improvement pending as she gets out over the 1600m now.
Damask Rose was the star filly of the season last year back in New Zealand claiming the Karaka Millions 3YO / The Kiwi double in 2025.
She’s been winless the past 12 months but has looked back to her better form this campaign coming into the Sunline on the back of three straight top three finishes.
Most recently she was just nudged out of the Group 3 Matron Stakes (1600m) at Flemington earlier in the month, but with Michael Dee now coming aboard from a more favourable alley she could improve again.
Of the longer priced fancies chasing a blowout Sunline Stakes results, those getting a bit of love in the markets include the widely drawn David Vandyke-trained Philia ($10) coming via a fourth in the Matron Stakes and Too Darn Discreet ($13) who ran fifth in that same key lead-up for Dan O’Sullivan.
The 2026 Sunline Stakes is scheduled to run as Caulfield Race 7 at 3:30pm (AEDT) on Saturday’s stacked 10-race card.
