The weather in Sydney for The Everest Day 2020 is for overcast conditions with scattered thunderstorms developing late in the afternoon meaning there’s a chance the current Good (4) Randwick track rating could be downgraded if any rain falls.

Randwick racing kicks off at 12:30pm (AEDT) with the big 10-race 2020 The Everest card continuing through until the last at 6:10pm (AEDT).

There are two Special Condition events on the line-up starting with Race 5 at 2:50pm (AEDT) when a field of NSW and ACT country-trained sprinters face off in the $1.3 million The Kosciuszko field where Front Page is the notable withdrawal.

Before the big one, Race 6 sees a host of nice sprinters do battle in the lucrative Group 3 $500,000 Sydney Stakes (1200m) – Brave Song for Team Snowden the sole scratching from The Everest consolation race.

The one all the fans are waiting for of course is the world’s richest turf race, The Everest 2020 due to jump as Race 7 at 4:15pm (AEDT) and featuring a dozen of the country’s fastest horses.

Race day The Everest betting at Ladbrokes.com.au has the Les Bridge-trained grey speedster Classique Legend as the $4.60 favourite to improve on his sixth in the weight-for-age showdown last year.

The Chris Waller-trained multiple Group 1 winner Nature Strip, fourth in 2019 behind his stablemate Yes Yes Yes, is the danger at easing The Everest odds of $5.

After The Everest race there is another half-a-million-dollar Group 3 to tune in for with the Craven Plate where Caulfield Cup contender Avilius and Looks Like Elvis – running in The Star Mile (Race 3) earlier in the day – come out of the field.
