Legendary trainer Bart Cummings and prolific owner Dato Tan Chin Nam have renamed their up and coming colt Ingham to Do You Think in honour of their dual Cox Plate winning superstar So You Think, recently sold off overseas to the esteemed Coolmore racing powerhouse.
Two-year-old Do You Think made a lasting impression at Rosehill on November 23 when racing under the name Ingham, the two-year-old Starcraft colt storming home to win a 900m barrier trial fine style.
Named Ingham due to their breeding from mare Chickens, the newly titled Do You Think won their debut barrier trial last Tuesday after jockey Hugh Bowman bought them forward from well back in the field to score by a short head in a blistering 53.54 seconds, the fastest of the day for the distance.
Do You Think was purchased for a reported $360,000 at this year’s NZB Premier Yearling Sale, the second highest priced Starcraft yearling sold in 2010.
Mum Chickens (by Danehill from C’Yaontheotherside) has produced five foals, Do You Think the most recent, and comes from a strong breeding line that produced Bart Cummings’ Group 1 winners Faint Perfume and Danendri.
With breeding, speed and now the name to match, Do You Think is one to look out for in the future.
