The 2017 Glasshouse Handicap betting markets for the Sunshine Coast this Saturday are an open affair with Too Good To Refuse heading the latest odds and bookies tips on the Caloundra Cup Day support act.

There are 14 remaining sprinters in the $175,000 Listed Glasshouse Handicap (1400m) field after the scratching of the Brett Cavanough-trained top weight The Monstar who instead stays in Sydney for a shot at the Listed Civic Stakes (1350m) on a Soft-rated Rosehill track.

The updated Glasshouse Handicap odds at Ladbrokes.com.au feature four single-figure fancies including the Desleigh Forster-trained stallion Too Good To Refuse ($6) who is drawn a treat in barrier four and has Robbie Fradd retaining the ride.

The four-year-old is coming off a back-to-back Doomben placings, the latest of which was only last weekend when third behind Burning Passion in the Group 3 W.J. Healy Stakes (1200m).

Too Good To Refuse was under two lengths beaten that day, has winning form up to a mile and should be set to peak third-up in the Glasshouse Handicap on Saturday.

Equal $7 second elects in the Glasshouse Handicap betting markets are the defending champion Flamboyer going up from 54kg last year to 56.5kg 12 months on and fellow Gold Coast galloper The Virginian who was just over two lengths beaten when seventh in the Listed Eye Liner Stakes (1350m) at Ipswich in the lead-up.

Rounding out the single figure Glasshouse hopes at $8 is then the widely-drawn Man Of His Word coming off a Listed G.H. Mumm Stakes (16150m) third at Doomben last Saturday.

So will the top fancies in betting get the job done or is there value to be had in this year’s Glasshouse Handicap from the likes of the rails-drawn Yesterday’s Songs ($10) or the Eye Liner Stakes winner a fortnight ago Monsieur Gustave ($11)?

#13 Banda Spice ($31)

Going for a big upset and blowout odds on this Stuart Kendrick-trained local who has plenty of form at her home track (15-5-0-3). The four-year-old Show A Heart mare is racing well having finished only 1.7 lengths back fourth to Bonny O’Reilly at Doomben as a $51 roughie in the Listed Helen Coughlan (1200M0 before her solid third in the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) at Ipswich a fortnight ago. She gets in on the 54kg minimum, leading apprentice Tiffani Brooker retains the ride and she’s got a nice mid-field draw that puts her right in the mix in flying form at her pet track.

#5 Too Good To Refuse ($6)

Race favourite looks a must include after the brave third at Doomben last weekend. On the short turnaround, but is improving and hasn’t run a bad race in a long time. Has winning form up to a mile so the extra metres third-up here will suit. He’s had three Sunshine Coast runs for two placings and can finish in the money again with a gun run from the gate.

#10 Elegant Composure ($13)

Another well-drawn chance who can get things their way from the gate. Chris Anderson-trained Bradbury’s Luck mare is out to atone for her 12^th in the Helen Coughlan from June 3 in Brisbane. She was still under five lengths beaten that day and will relish the step-up in distance (5-3-0-0). She is also undefeated at the Caloundra course with a perfect four-from-four record so will be back to her best returning to the track for the first time since April last year.
