Chris Waller‘s Golden Rose winner Beiwacht heads south this weekend heading betting on the 2025 Coolmore Stud Stakes field down the famous Flemington ‘Straight Six’ on the Derby Day card in Melbourne.

The first of three elite levels on a stacked all Group race card at HQ, the Group 1 $2 million Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) has drawn a top-class field of 12 three-year-old sprinters.
Sitting top of the latest Coolmore Stud Stakes odds online at $3.90 and easing out through Ladbrokes.com.au out to be the first favourite to salute in the race since the filly In Secret ($3.10 in 2022) is Bivouac colt Beiwacht.
Progressing with each run in this campaign, the valuable Godolphin raced young gun has run in the money in all three of his Sydney assignments as a three-year-old including his last start win in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) on September 27.
Beiwacht won the Golden Rose in a four-length romp home in a new track record time and is now in the hunt for a dual-state Group 1 double.
He has been kept fresh for his shot at the Coolmore now but has continued to tick over with two recent trials including one here at Flemington last Friday.
Adam Hyeronimus has been riding in terrific fashion and continues associations with the favourite this weekend with the pair set to jump from barrier 10.
Waller boasts an excellent record in the Coolmore Stud Stakes having prepared six previous winners including last year’s champion Switzerland.
Along with the top elect the champion trainer will also saddle-up undefeated Flying Artie colt Skyglider from gate three with Kerrin McEvoy to partner the potentially underrated $19 dark horse.
The untapped Anthony & Sam Freedman trained Tentyris at $4 shapes up as the other major player battling for favouritism in Coolmore Stud Stakes betting.
The Street Boss colt comes in confident off a lead-up win at Caulfield in the Listed Gothic Stakes (1200m) and returns to Flemington where he resumed with an eye-catching third behind Mcgaw at this track and trip in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes.
His Gothic Stakes performance was massive seeing him make up plenty of ground to despite a hefty 58.5kg weight and he’s sure to appreciate the return to 57kg at set weights here for his grand final.
Runner-up in the autumn’s Group 1 Blue Diamond, Tentyris boasts class in spades and has a dominant six-furlong record he’s out to add to this weekend (3:2-1-0) from a favourable barrier five draw with hoop of the hour Mark Zahra sticking in the saddle.
In a tight top-half of the markets the other most likely at $5 is the Peter Snowden trained Beadman.
Snowden won this event back in 2011 with his former top liner Sepoy and is back 14 years later saddling-up progressive Snitzel colt Beadman from gate eight with Blake Shinn coming aboard for the ride.
The up-and-comer from Sydney brings down some strong form lines from further north including a last start second to Hidden Motive when only a quarter-length beaten in the Group 2 Roman Consul.
The Nathan Doyle trained Roman Consul Stakes champ, nicely bred Capitalist colt Hidden Motive, meanwhile is also in the Coolmore Stud Stakes field rated a juicy 20/1 outsider to do the double Switzerland completed last year for the Waller stable.
He beat home Beadman narrowly for an upset in the Sydney Group 2 on October 11 and looks a forgotten player with claims for another shock victory this weekend.
Snowden will also be represented by the latest Coolmore Stud Stakes market mover Raging Force who has been well supported early backed right in from $17 to $8.50 to go one better than his Gothic Stakes second.
My Gladiola is the sole filly in the mix with the John McArdle trained daughter of I Am Invincible paying $11 to beat home the boys.
She drew the inside alley, won here two back carrying plenty more weight and was good running second in the Danehill at her latest giving her plenty of ticked boxes to potentially beat home the boys in a surprise result on Saturday.
The 2025 Coolmore Stud Stakes is set to run as Flemington Race 6 at 3:40pm (AEDT) on the Derby Day card for Saturday.
