The consistent Chris Waller trained Lindermann is tipped to take out the richest race on the Sydney card this Saturday as the firm favourite in 2025 Hill Stakes betting at Rosehill.

The Group 2 $2 million Hill Stakes (1900m) serves as a potential lead-up to the Ladbrokes Cox Plate at The Valley on October 25 and has drawn a class field of middle-distance gallopers.
Sitting top of the Hill Stakes odds at $2.45 and firming through Ladbrokes.com.au is in-form Lonhro six-year-old Lindermann.
Despite drawing the outside alley (15 into 14 with the early scratching of Naval College) the gelding is well supported to salute with Nash Rawiller continuing associations.
Two back the former Rosehill Guineas champ claimed a mile win at Randwick when defeating subsequent Underwood Stakes – Turnbull Stakes double champion and now favourite for both the Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup, Sir Delius, in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes.
At his latest he was runner-up to stablemate Fangirl in a photo-thriller in the $1 million 7 Stakes, also run over the mile at Randwick, so he brings in some very strong form lines to Saturday’s Sydney feature.
He boasts a lovely Rosehill record (7:3-1-1) and has winning form up to 2000m so the Hill Stakes distance fourth-up looks spot-on for the deserving favourite.
Waller boasts an outstanding record in the Hill Stakes having prepared six winners, most recently in 2023 with Montefilia.
Along with Saturday’s top fancy he will also saddle-up Militarize ($11) and Kovalica ($9) drawn in barriers one and two respectively.
Following Lindermann in the Hill Stakes betting markets at $6.50 meanwhile is Elamaz for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott.
Drawn well second-up in barrier six with Tim Clark to ride, the six-year-old son of Gleneagles has just his third start in Australia.
The French expat remains lightly raced with Saturday his 10th career run, and he is already proven at the Rosehill track having taken out his down under debut here in the Listed WJ McKell Cup (2000m) back in June.
This prep he got things underway at Randwick running fifth to Birdman in the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes when racing keenly fresh, and he’s tipped to settle better and improve this weekend.
Other notably hopes include Ciaron Maher’s dual acceptor Light Infantry Man who is also one of just five in the mix for Caulfield’s Group 1 Might And Power on Guineas Day and the Gavin Bedggood trained Kingswood coming off a first-up second in easier company at Flemington.
The 2025 Hill Stakes is set to run as Rosehill Race 8 at 4:50pm (AEDT) on the 10-race card in Sydney.
