The money has come for the fillies to go back-to-back in the 2025 Golden Slipper on Saturday with Tempted firming into favouritism for the world’s richest race for two-year-olds.

A capacity line-up of the season’s top juveniles will face off at Rosehill Gardens in the lucrative $5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) this weekend and it is the James Cummings trained Reisling Stakes winner Tempted who sits top of the markets at Ladbrokes.com.au.

#16 Marhoona is the early Golden Slipper market mover at Ladbrokes backed in from $13 to $9.50!

Original Golden Slipper odds on the final field had the Chris Waller colt Wodeton as the early favourite before a move on Godolphin’s classy daughter of Street Boss.

Tempted, to be ridden by two-time Golden Slipper winning jockey Blake Shinn from barrier one, is the new $5 Slipper favourite with the fillies having beaten home the boys last years with Lady Of Camelot (2024).

2025 Golden Slipper Favourite Form Facts

  • #13 Tempted firms into $5 Golden Slipper favouritism @ $5 through Ladbrokes.com.au
  • Comes off a Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on March 8
  • Estijaab (2018) last to complete the Reisling Stakes / Golden Slipper double
  • Fillies have won five of the past eight editions
  • Lady Of Camelot (2024) latest Golden Slipper winning filly
  • Tempted drawn in barrier 1 which produced back-to-back winners with Fireburn (2022) and Shinzo (2023)
  • Blake Shinn to ride chasing a third win after success on Capitalist (2016) and Lady Of Camelot (2024)
  • Trained by James Cummings who won with the filly Kiamichi (2019)
  • Farnan ($4.80 in 2020) was the last Golden Slipper favourite to win
Tempted will be ridden by Blake Shinn who is after a third Golden Slipper victory and back-to-back wins after his success on Lady Of Camelot last year!

Wodeton meanwhile is now the second favourite in Golden Slipper betting at $5.50 through Ladbrokes.com.au with the Wootton Bassett colt coming off placings in the Group 2 Silver Slipper (3rd) and Group 2 Todman Stakes (2nd).

He will jump from one the outside of Tempted in gate two, which last produced a Golden Slipper champion in 2016 with Capitalist, and he has James McDonald aboard.

2025 Golden Slipper Odds: Single Figure Fancies

  • #1 Rivellino ($9.50 at time of publish)
  • #7 Skyhook ($7 at time of publish)
  • #8 Wodeton ($5.50 at time of publish)
  • #13 Tempted ($5 at time of publish)
  • #16 Marhoona ($9.50 at time of publish)

Skyhook ($7) is the other best fancied with the Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou trained son of Written Tycoon drawn midfield in gate eight with Kerrin McEvoy to ride.

Runner-up in the Skyline Stakes two back, Skyhook was enormous last weekend at the Slipper track and trip dominating the Group 3 Pago Pago Stakes by 3.24 lengths.

He is on the quick turnaround now fit and ready to fire again chasing a double last completed by Shinzo (2023) just a couple of years ago.

The other single-figure Golden Slipper hopes at time of publish are the undefeated Rivellino ($9.50) for Kris Lees and the early market mover Marhoona ($13 into $9.50) form Michael Freedman.

Rivellino is a colt by sire of the moment, Too Darn Hot, who is drawn a treat in gate three with Hugh Bowman coming aboard the Inglis Millennium – Skyline Stakes double winner.

Marhoona meanwhile is the filly to get behind if you want to follow the money trail with the progressive daughter of Snitzel in gate six with Damian Lane replacing Jason Colett aboard the last start Reisling Stakes runner-up.

The 2025 TAB Golden Slipper runs as Rosehill Race 8 at 4:35pm (AEDT).
