It is a fine and sunny day west of Brisbane today and with no rain on the forecast the current Good (4) Ipswich track rating looks set to stay across the day.
Racing at Ipswich kicks off at 11:48am (AEST) and the nine-race program continues through until the day’s feature race closes the card with the Listed $125,000 Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) at 4:44pm (AEST).
The 2020 Gai Waterhouse Classic field features a capacity 16 starters including the two emergencies who come in for the scratched runners – #1 Jamaican Rain (14) and #3 Pennino (15) both withdrawn.
Updated odds on Ipswich Race 9 have Steven O’Dea’s Listed Bright Shadow Quality winner Jami Lady as the firming $3.30 favourite through Ladbrokes.com.au to make it three straight wins.
Earlier in the day the key support act takes place with the Listed $85,000 Eye Liner Stakes (1200m) for the sprinters scheduled as Race 7 at 3:32pm (AEST).
The Eye Liner Stakes 2020 field features all 14 original acceptors including one of the Gai Waterhouse scratchings, Pennino ($4.60 @ Ladbrokes.com.au), who is battling for top spot in betting with the Chris Munce-trained Boomsara ($4.40 @ Ladbrokes.com.au).
