Champion mare Winx will kick off her 2018 Spring Carnival campaign in the race that has been named after her, the Group 1 $500,000 Winx Stakes (1400m), with the eleven horse field remaining scratching free.
The Winx Stakes will be the first step for the Chris Waller trained super star towards defending her Cox Plate title that she has held for the last three years and she is already a very short priced favourite to win her fourth Group 1 $5m Ladbrokes Cox Plate (2040m) at The Valley on October 27.
