Last year’s winner Secret Agenda is the market mover in race eve betting for the 2018 version of the Group 1 $1m 2018 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday.
The Mick Price trained Secret Agenda was an all the way winner in the 2017 Robert Sangster Stakes and Damien Oliver has hopped back on the mare looking for back to back victories in the Group 1 for the fillies and mares on the first day of the Adelaide Festival Of Racing.
Secret Agenda was out of luck at the barrier draw, coming up with gate fourteen in the eighteen horse Robert Sangster Stakes field, but that hasn’t stop her supporters with the five year old firming in from $13 to be $11 at Ladbrokes.com.au on race eve.
Arch rival Viddora, who chased Secret Agenda home in last year’s Robert Sangster Stakes, heads the betting at $4.50 and will jump from the inside gate with regular rider Joe Bowditch in the saddle again.
Viddora and Secret Agenda clashed again last start when second and third behind the West Australian trained Dainty Tess in the Group 3 $120,000 Hughes Limousines R N Irwin Stakes (1100m) at Morphettville on April 21.
The Lloyd Kennewell trained Viddora will be flying the flag for a home town victory while the Perth visitors will be hoping Dainty Tess can claim another win over the locals.
Jamie Kah takes the ride again on Dainty Tess who has drawn nicely at barrier five and is at the good odds of $11.
Darren Weir’s front running mare Quilista is well in contention in the betting at $6 just ahead of the Andrew Noblet trained mare Super Cash at $7.50.
The Lindsay Park Team off David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig will saddle up four runners in the Robert Sangster Stakes with Catchy the most fancied in the betting at $10 ahead of Formality at $14 while Miss Gunpowder and Tulip are among the outsiders of the field at $34.
