Four black type races headlines 2017 Run To The Rose Day at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon, highlighted by the final stop on the traditional path towards the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) in a fortnight.

It is a fine day around the Rosehill Gardens precinct today and the race track has been rated a ‘Good 3’ after no rainfall was recorded on the course throughout the last seven days.

All nine races on 2017 Run To The Rose Day have drawn talent-rich fields and the action is set to get underway with the running of the Schweppes Handicap (1500m) at 12:10pm, while this weekend’s Highway Handicap has drawn a classy field of country horses.
Race 3 is a particularly open races from a betting perspective, while the first black type race on Run To The Rose Day will be contested when seven three-year-olds step out for the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) at 2:00pm.
Leading contender Foxplay has been scratched from the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes (1300) field, but there is still plenty of quality remaining in the race, while an impressive field of mares will contest the Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) at 3:10pm.
Some of the country’s best three-year-olds will step out in this year’s Run To The Rose, including Menari and Pariah, while there is also plenty to like about the fields for the last two races of the day.
