2017 All Aged Stakes Results: Tivaci Wins

Don’t miss out on the 2017 All Aged Stakes Day results all afternoon at races.com.au!

There is a feast of racing set to take place at Royal Randwick over the next six hours and we will be treated to two entertaining Group 1 affairs.

The first is the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) and it is Sires Produce Stakes winner Invader that is a dominant favourites from Fernhill Handicap winner Whispered Secret.

That is followed by the All Aged Stakes, which is a much more competitive betting affair.

Last year’s winner English is a clear favourite to go back-to-back, but there has been plenty of money for the likes of Le Romain, Tivaci, McCreery and Voodoo Lad.

Race 1 (12:00am) – $60,000 Highway Handicap Results

Mercurial Lad made it three wins on the trot with an impressive win in the Highway Handicap at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

There was plenty of support for Mercurial Lad in the lead-up to the Highway Handicap and the money prove spot-on as he proved too strong for his rivals.

Mercurial Lad hit the front a long way home and looked in danger as War Hero loomed on the outside but he kept on fighting to extend his winning streak.

Race 2 (12:40pm) – $100,000 IGA Liquor Handicap Results

Untamed Diamond got his nose down at the right time to win the IGA Liquor Handicap at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Sweet Serendipity took up the running and kicked clear of his rivals at top of the straight and looked like the winner at the 100 metre mark.

The Excites gelding looked as though he was going to hang on, but Untamed Diamond dived at him to steal victory.

Race 3 (1:15pm) – $600,000 Group 3 Frank Packer Plate Results

Mongolian Wolf made his Australian racing debut with an impressive victory in the Frank Packer Plate at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Mongolian Wolf was beaten comfortably in the New Zealand Derby, but he finished over the top of Veladero to return to winning form.

Brenton Avdulla was impressed with the performance of Mongolian Wolf and believes that the Kiwi will progress to the Queensland Derby.

Race 4 (1:20pm) – $150,000 Group 3 Hall Mark Stakes Results

Redzel led from start to finish to take out the 2017 Hall Mark Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Redzel was unproven 1200 metres heading into the Hall Mark Stakes, but he got a fairly soft time of it in front and held-off Counterattack and Takedown in the concluding stages.

Kerrin McEvoy indicated after the Hall Mark Stakes that Redzel is likely to head to Brisbane and a race like the Doomben 10,000 could be on the agenda.

Race 5 (2:25pm) – $150,000 Group 3 JRA Plate Results

Top Of My List led from start to finish to take out the 2017 JRA Plate at Royal Randwick this weekend.

Top Of My List went straight to the lead in the early stages of the race and Tim Clark was able to take control of the race.

She put a gap on her rivals at the top of the straight and never looked like getting run down in the final stages of the JRA Plate.

  • 2nd: Sons Of John
  • 3rd: Rudy

Race 6 (3:05pm) – $500,000 Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m)

The Mission ran his rivals ragged to take out the 2017 Champagne Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

There was question mark over The Mission running out a strong mile and he seemed unlikely to run out the trip when he bolted in the early stages of the race.

Those concerns proved to be premature as he was incredibly strong through the line and he held-off Invader to take out the 2017 Champagne Stakes.

  • 3rd: Whispered Secret 

Race 7 (3:45pm) – $600,000 Group 1 All Aged Stakes Results

Tivaci swamped his rivals to take out the 2017 All Aged Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Tivaci got a long way back in the early stages of the race and the pattern of the day suggested that he would struggle to get into the race.

Le Romain fought off Jungle Edge to hit the front at the 150 metre mark, but Tivaci stormed down the outside to claim victory.

Race 8 (4:25pm) – $150,000 Group 3 JHB Carr Stakes Results

Raiment bounced back to her best form with a strong victory in the 2017 JHB Carr Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Raiment was caught wide throughout the Carr Stakes, but she always travelled like the winner and she carted herself into the race at the top of the straight.

Jockey James Doyle asked her for an extra effort at the top of the straight and she raced clear from her rival to record a dominant victory.

  • 2nd: Invincibella
  • 3rd: Smart Amelia

Race 9 (5:05pm) – $100,000 The Hong Jockey Club Trophy Results

Kellyville Flyer stormed down the outside of the field to take out the 2017 Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Duca Valentinois hit the front at the top of  the straight and looked as though he had the race shot to bits, but Kellyville Flyer savaged the line down the outside of the track to claim victory.

  • 2nd: Duca Valentinois
  • 3rd: Maurus
