Ten youngsters are in the mix for this year’s $500,000 Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m), the set weights sprint to run as Flemington Race 5 at 2:25pm (AEDT) on Saturday.

Three in the field are currently at single-figures in the latest Coolmore Stud Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au including the firming $3.30 favourite Extreme Choice.

He beat the older horses at weight-for-age at Moonee Valley first-up in the Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) and is now tipped to beat a field of his own kind for a third elite level career win.

The Blue Diamond Stakes winner is prepared by Mick Price, who also saddles-up his last start Blue Sapphire Stakes winner Flying Artie at more generous odds of $12.

The others under $10 in the updated Coolmore Stud Stakes betting markets are the John O’Shea-trained Astern ($3.90) in the Golden Rose winner’s Melbourne debut and Star Turn ($4.50) also from Sydney but with previous form in Victoria including the last start Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (1100m) win at Caulfield.
