Hucklebuck is a proven first-up performer and is more than worth consideration for a bet at current Testa Rossa Stakes odds of $6. A Group 1 winner having taken out the 2014 edition of the Emirates Stakes (1600m), the Elvstroem gelding ran fourth in the talent-rich Group 2 Australia Stakes (1200m) first-up before placing third in the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) most notably. Drawn well, Hucklebuck has been charged with overcoming 61kgs but will be right in the finish of the race with Dom Tourneur in the saddle.

Keen Array ($3.90)

Keen Array is a proven performer at the course and distance, and should prove very tough to beat in the Testa Rossa Stakes with a run already under his belt. Winning the Listed Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m) before finishing second in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) most notably last spring, the Bel Esprit gelding failed to come up in autumn, but has clearly returned to the mark this time having placed a close second in the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) a fortnight ago.

Yesterday’s Songs ($16)

Yesterday’s Songs is weighted and drawn well in the Testa Rossa Stakes field, and is over the odds at $16 for success or $4.40 to finish in the first three. Yesterday’s Songs produced a number of classy efforts during the autumn this year, highlighted by a comfortable win in the Listed Wangoom Handicap (1200m) at Warrnambool on May 4^th.
