Eleven runners have been confirmed in the final field for Saturday’s Group 3 Ladbrokes Odds Boost Stakes (1200m) (How Now Stakes); offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.
Secret Agenda remains an outright $3.20 favourite in 2016 How Now Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Miss Promiscuity ($4.80), Vibrant Rouge and Ameristralia; currently sharing the third line at generous $9 odds.
Will Secret Agenda win the 2016 How Now Stakes, or will one of her talented rivals post an upset at Caulfield on Saturday?
Consistent mare Miss Promiscuity is sure to have taken plenty of benefit from her first-up run for fifth in the Group 3 The Heath (1100m) and is more than worth consideration for a bet at current How Now Stakes odds of $4.80 for success. Claiming seven wins and a further six minors through twenty-four career starts so far, the Magnus mare returned to racing in autumn for fourth in the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) before claiming consecutive race wins in the Geoff Murphy Handicap (1100m) and Vobis Gold Sprint (1200m). Dwayne Dunn will take the ride on Miss Promiscuity from barrier 8 on Saturday.
Stakes winner My Poppette has been charged with overcoming a race-high 58kgs in the Ladbrokes Odds Boost Stakes but has the class to figure in the finish of the race. Stamping herself as a filly to follow through the 2015 edition of the Spring Carnival, My Poppette ran third in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) before taking out the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies’ Classic (1600m) most notably. Having produced a number of typically-smart performances through autumn and winter, the Snippetson mare ran fourth in the Resimax Plate (1000m) first-up this time and could very well receive the run of the race from barrier 3 this weekend.
Mick Price is pleased with the returning condition of Secret Agenda, but the classy mare may require her first-up run on Saturday to return to peak form. Winner of the Group 3 Gucci Stakes (1100m) at the conclusion of her 2015 campaign, the Not A Single Doubt mare produced a number of smart performances in autumn this year without being able to return to winning form; placing second in both the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes (1200m) and Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) most notably.
