Racing kicks off for SA Derby Day at 12:00pm (local time) and the eight race program is set to come to a close at 4:28pm (AEST) with the last of three black-types on the program – the $80,000 Listed Adelaide Guineas (1600m) where the first two emergencies get a run after the scratchings fo Rock Spur and Miss Adele.

The headline race on the card is Race 7 at 3:53pm (local) where the original 16 final acceptors make up the capacity field for the $500,000 Group 1 South Australian Derby (2500m).

The latest South Australian Derby odds at Ladbrokes.com.au have just three of the three-year-olds in the mix at single figures with last Saturday’s Schweppes Oaks winning filly from Perth Delicacy the red hot favourite backed in from $4.80 to $2.70.

The other major on the program is the $250,000 Group 2 Euclase Stakes (1200m) running as Race 6 at 3:13pm (local) where all 13 original runners remain in contention including the $4.40 favourite Éclair Choice.
