Tango’s Daughter in Peak Condition Ahead of Adelaide Guineas

Trainer Mick Price is confident in the chances of exciting filly Tango’s Daughter in this afternoon’s Listed Adelaide Guineas (1600m), particularly with talented jockey Dean Yendall confirmed to retain the ride.

Comfortably claiming the Group 2 Queen Of The South Stakes (1600m) at Morphettville last time out, Price told AAP the conditions of the Adelaide Guineas should play into the strengths of Tango’ Daughter.

“I think at set weights she’s clearly the highest rated horse there” Price said.

“I think it’s a good opportunity for her to go around against her own age.

“I think D Yendall made the right decision last start and he’ll make his own decision tomorrow (Saturday).”

Experiencing a great run of form in his own right, Yendall said is confident his recently successful tenure of Tango’s Daughter will continue through the Adelaide Guineas this afternoon.

“I’ve had a bit of success for her owners so they booked me to ride her again” Yendall said.

Securing an impressive total of five wins and one place from only nine competitive starts so far, Tango’s Daughter burst onto the racing scene over the 2013 winter; strolling home to win both the GRC Function and Event Centre Maiden (1000m) and Equine Haven Race Horse Spelling Maiden (1000m) by more than four lengths each.

Returning to racing this season with a strong turn of foot to run on for fourth in the Listed Security Stakes (1100m) on March 8th, the Redoute’s Choice filly has reached peak condition over her three most recent starts; jogging in to claim the Hilton Manufacturing Fillies (1300m) and comfortably winning the Listed Nitschke Stakes (1400m) from fellow Adelaide Guineas acceptor Lady Lakshmi prior to her Queen Of The Turf triumph.

Allocated the ideal barrier 6, Tango’s Daughter is currently featured as outright favourite for success in betting markets for the Listed Adelaide Guineas at a quote of $2.80, ahead of Lady Lakshmi ($4.60), Alpha Beat ($5) and Exodus ($10).
