Brazilian Pulse Scratched from Ajax Stakes in Favour of Rosehill Race 3

Brazilian Pulse

Brazilian Pulse is odds-on favourite to win the Keith F Nolan Classic at Rosehill today

A decision has been made on which Rosehill Guineas Day event last year’s Crown Oaks winning filly Brazilian Pulse will contest today, connections opting to run the Group 1 star in the $150,000 Group 3 Keith F Nolan Classic (1800m) against her own kind.

Having also been paid up for Rosehill Race 5 earlier in the week, Brazilian Pulse has now officially been scratched from the $175,000 Group 2 Ajax Stakes (1500m).

The 2011 Keith F Nolan Classic is scheduled to run as Rosehill Race 3 at 1:30pm (AEDST) this afternoon and features a quality field of 14 three-year-old fillies.

Brazilian Pulse is the raging favourite with her run in the feature now assured.

Drawn ideally in barrier five and without doubt the classiest competitor in this year’s Keith F Nolan Classic, Brazilian Pulse is currently paying $1.80 to win through Luxbet.

Her only concern could be the hefty 58kg topweight Brazilian Pulse is allocated for the race with jockey Craig Williams booked for the ride.

The most Brazilian Pulse has previously carried in her seven career starts to date is 57kg, which she had on her back on debut back in September last year where she easily defeated a field of five over 1200m by seven lengths at Ballarat.

Brazilian Pulse is second-up this season having run second to Do Ra Mi first-up in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on March 12.

Making her first appearance at Rosehill this afternoon in the Keith F Nolan Classic, Brazilian Pulse still looks hard to beat especially over the suitable 1800m distance and the Races.com.au are tipping the favourite.

We also had Brazilian Pulse as our tip to win the 2011 Ajax Stakes, scheduled as Rosehill Race 5 at 2:50pm (AEDST) this afternoon.

With the star filly out, a field of 10 gallopers are left in contention with #9 Pureness the firming favourite.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained gelding is coming off a game third to Triple Elegance in the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Warwick Farm on March 5.

Pureness has shortened right in from $3 to $2.25 favouritism at Luxbet in their Ajax Stakes odds.
