Lamasery has won Race 3 at Rosehill
Race 3 at Rosehill Gardens, the Tony and Manera Lahood Handicap, has continued the impressive run of a very promising horse.
It’s now three in a row for Lamasery after making up a huge margin to eventually claim the race quite comfortably.
From the gates Lamasery was content to sit at the tail of the field while at the front the lead changed at least three times at a very quick pace.
Scouting Wide was pulling hard and eventually the jockey just let it run to the front.
He was joined for a small period by one of the roughies which tired badly before the home turn catching a few of the other runners off guard and leaving Scouting Wide with a huge eight length margin.
Lone Command couldn’t make up any ground after sitting third the rail most of the trip so the challenges had to come from the back of the field.
Scottish Border was first to make the move being followed by Lamasery and half way down the straight they started to pick up plenty of ground from Scouting Wide.
Once they caught him it was a race in two but Lamasery had too much pace and pulled off a solid victory from Scottish Border and Scouting Wide which hang on for third.
Lone Command ended up claiming fourth but it’s all about Lamasery which has really impressed trainer David Vandyke.
The horse wasn’t even nominated until Tuesday because he didn’t think the horse would recover so quickly from his last start victory.
He said if anything the horse looks better now and could be suited to an even longer distance next start.
There are a couple of 2000m plus Group 3’s coming up in the next few weeks so keep an eye on Luxbet to see if Lamasery lines up because he’s certainly a quality racehorse.
