Tomorrow, Saturday February 12, Caulfield Racecourse will come alive with an elite race line-up for CF Orr Stakes Day including the $180,000 Group D’Urban Stakes (1400m) and below we have the top 2011 D’Urban Autumn Race Tips.
Scheduled to jump as Caulfield Race 3 at 2:00pm (AEDST) tomorrow, the 2011 D’Urban Stakes final field features 11 three-year-olds ready to face off in the autumn showdown.
Odds-on favourite in the D’Urban Stakes betting markets is #7 Under The Eiffel currently paying $1.90 to win through Luxbet.
The Tony Vasil-trained Mossman gelding is an up-and-coming galloper who has won three of their four career starts.
Most recently they claimed a tidy 2 ½ length win carrying a hefty 58.5kg in the Premier Signs Handicap (1400m) at Sandown and looks well positioned in barrier one and dropping back to just 55.5kg tomorrow to step up to Group company for the first time.
Despite Under The Eiffel’s impressive record and dominance in the market, the Races.com.au team think there is better value to be found laying the favourite and are tipping an upset.
Of the D’Urban Stakes field we have $13 chance Run For Levi rated special to win.
Caulfield Race 3 Betting Tips – 2011 D’Urban Stakes
- Races.com.au Favourite: #3 Run For Levi – Rated Special to Win – Bet now at Luxbet
- Best Place / Exotic Bets: #7 Under The Eiffel, #4 Eclair Mystic and #9 Gilded Spur
John Thompson’s well-bred Hussonet colt Run For Levi has been a solid market mover in the D’Urban odds at Luxbet, backed in from their opening quote of $17 into $13 in the past day.
Drawn in barrier eight and due to be ridden by Craig Newitt, Run For Levi is second-up tomorrow after running sixth when resuming in the Listed Zeditave Stakes where they striked interference with 200m to go on January 26.
During the spring Run For Levi was in career-best form running second in the Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on September 24 and then finishing second, beaten by less than half a length by Anacheeva, in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).
Run For Levi runs their best over 1400m and so is back to their pet distance tomorrow making them an exciting pick at generous double-figure odds.
Under The Eiffel has started their career off tremendously and will run second.
To finish off the D’Urban Stakes Trifecta we fancy Eclair Mystic, the $5.50 second favourite at Luxbet out wide in barrier nine but having shown great form to win the Zeditave last start at the track.
Want to really win big off Caulfield Race 3 tomorrow? Try the lucrative First Four markets at Luxbet by adding #9 Gilded Spur.
Anthony Cummings’ speedy son of Flying Spur showed his potential running third behind Under The Eiffel last start, but looks a little outclassed to finish in the top three here.
