Bauer has been officially scratched from the 2010 Melbourne Cup due to a hoof injury.
After undergoing a veterinary inspection this morning, Racing Victoria stewards were not able to clear the 2008 Melbourne Cup second placegetter to run in the $6 million showdown at Flemington today.
The Luca Cuman-trained grey was a $71 chance to win at Luxbet and was horse number 18 in the 2010 Melbourne Cup field.
