2009 Cox Plate Results
- 1st: So You Think
- 2nd: Manhattan Rain
- 3rd: Zipping
The 2009 Cox Plate Results saw the Bart Cummings-trained colt So You Think become the first three-year-old Cox Plate winner since Savabeel (2004) when he charged home as a $13 shot in betting to defeat Manhattan Rain by a commanding two and a half lengths. Race favourite Whobegotyou ran a disappointing sixth beaten four lengths. So You Think would go on to also win the 2010 Cox Plate, the first back-to-back winner since Northerly (2001-02), while Fields Of Omagh (2003 and 2006) also won two editions during that time but on non-successive years.
