Trenchant carries winning form into the Taj Rossi Series Final, should find a good position in transit from barrier 10 and will be partnered by leading hoop Craig Williams. Debuting to racing for ninth in the William Hill Maiden (1200m) at Geelong on June 3^rd, the Medaglia D’Oro colt responded well when third in the Friends Of Epworth Handicap (1200m) before savaging the line for a near-three length win in the Bay And Ranges Handicap (1400m) a fortnight ago. Godolphin have the runs on the board with two-year-olds in black type races this season and Trenchant is primed to continue the trend in the Taj Rossi Series Final.

Fast ‘N’ Rolling ($5)

Drawn ideally in barrier 5 with Dwayne Dunn aboard, Fast ‘N’ Rolling should have no problem performing to a high standard with 57kgs in tow and represents terrific value at current $5 Taj Rossi Series Final odds, or $1.90 to finish in the first three. Yet to finish outside the first three through his short racing career, the Fastnet Rock colt ran second in the Pat Hyland Hall Of Fame Maiden (1000m) on debut; progressing to third in each of the Schweppes Handicap (1300m) and Bay And Ranges Handicap most recently.

Captain Duffy ($7.50)

South Australian raider Captain Duffy undoubtedly faces his biggest career task to date in the Taj Rossi Series Final, but is positioned well for a strong performance and arguably offers punters the best value for money at his current quote. Having quickly built to the task through his three start career, the King Cugat colt placed seventh in the RSL Anzac Appeal Handicap (1050m) first-up; progressing to fourth in the Irish Raceday 27^th August Maiden (1000m) before taking out the Anthony Scopelitis Memorial Handicap (1200m) last time out on June 25^th.
