Leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller is poised to claim another win in the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

In-form sprinter Cannyescent undoubtedly faces the biggest test of his campaign in the Theo Marks Stakes, but he has continued to firm in betting markets and is now available at $4.80 odds, having opened at a $6 quote.

Cannyescent began his racing career under the guidance of Gabrielle Englebrecht, but has undoubtedly stepped up in form and class since transferring to the care of the Lindsay Park team earlier this year.

Winner of three-consecutive sprints through May and June, the Canny Lad gelding was last seen finishing a close second in the Group 3 Aurie’s Star Handicap (1200m) on August 12^th.
