The official 2017 Cox Plate Results saw the superstar mare Winx ($1.18) join Kingston Town on a trio of Cox Plate victories, the Chris Waller-trained mare saluting as the shortest-priced favourite since Phar Lap ($1.07 in 1931). Winx had to hold off the gallant Humidor to win and did so in race record time, surpassing her own previous record in the race from 2015.

The Cox Plate 2017 winner Winx fought for her third trophy in the Australasian weight-for-age championship, with under a half-length to spare on the line, while the Cox Plate Trifecta was completed by the Charlie Appleby-trained international raider Folkswood ($26) in a distant third.
