Gringotts is the fit galloper out to extend his spring/summer winning streak when he steps out with the topweight in Saturday’s 2025 The Ingham field at Royal Randwick.

Ciaron Maher‘s flying Per Incanto six-year-old may be lumping 61kg from a nasty barrier but he remains the horse to beat sitting top of the markets for a quality edition of the Group 2 $2 million The Ingham (1600m) which offers a ballot-free ride into next year’s Doncaster Mile to the winner.
Gringotts has impressed with successful title defences in both The Big Dance and The Gong at his latest two with plenty of weight on his back and the punters think he’s up to the task again backing him with confidence in The Ingham betting.
Regular rider Nash Rawiller sticks with this Group 1 winner who has amassed over $6 million in career prize money now and Gringotts even from the wide alley sits top of The Ingham odds at $4.40 through Ladbrokes.com.au.
Second favourite in The Ingham betting set to challenge the top fancy is the John O’Shea & Tom Charlton trained Yorkshire ($4.80) to be ridden by Zac Lloyd on 53kg.
The five-year-old Snitzel gelding, a winner of seven of his 10 starts to date, bounced back from a dead last (16th) in The Hunter – after which he was found to have suffered an incident of cardiac arrhythmia – to win the Group 3 Festival Stakes at Rosehill.
He is now back to his best and sure to relish the 1600m.
The Ingham field features a capacity line-up of hopefuls and outside the top two there are currently three other single figure fancies including the early market mover – Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr‘s untapped four-year-old Sabaj ($6.50 into $6).
Like Gringotts, he too has work to do to overcome a wide gate, but the money is coming for the up-and-comer who comes off a career defining win in the Ladbrokes Cranbourne Cup.
Having won over the Flemington mile with a hefty 59.5kg the run prior on Champion Stakes Day by nearly two lengths, he relished a drop to 54kg to get a Black-Type win on the board.
Saturday sees him come back in weight again in on just 53kg giving jockey Beau Mertens every chance to settle back and unleash the young son of Manhattan Rain the closing stages.
Joe Pride‘s last start The Gong runner-up in the wet Estadio Mestalla ($7.50) and Lindsay Park‘s Almanzor five-year-old Rise At Dawn ($9.50) complete the hopes under $10 for the win.
Estadio Mestalla is a hardened miler who looks to get conditions to suit this time.
He produced a gutsy effort from the draw when finishing a close second in the Group 3 The Gong over 1600m at Kembla Grange, and with the right run here he has the class to turn the tables and go one better.
Rise at Dawn is also a smart gelding who resumes from a freshen?up with the winkers added, and he looks well?placed back at his preferred trip.
He maps to get every favour down on the minimum (53kg) after being grabbed late when finishing fourth in the Listed Five Diamonds over 1800m at Rosehill.
A sharp recent 1000m jump?out win suggests he’s come back in great order, and with conditions to suit he’s going to take plenty of running down with Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle.
The 2025 The Ingham is scheduled as Randwick Race 8 at 4:45pm (AEDT) on Saturday’s bumper 10-race Sydney card.
