The final Group 1 race of the Australian racing season takes place at Eagle Farm this weekend with the elite level action of the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival coming to a close with the Tattersall’s Tiara 2025.

A capacity line-up of fillies and mares faces off in this year’s Group 1 $700,000 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m), and it is the Chris Waller trained Firestorm narrowly leading the markets despite her wide alley.
Waller chases a third Tatt’s Tiara trophy following his earlier victories with Red Tracer (2013) and Invincibella (2019), and he saddle’s up a trio in the field on Saturday.
His best is Firestorm ($4) who drew gate 19 which will become barrier 14 at best if all emergencies come out.
The Kiwi bred four-year-old races second-up and is out to improve on her eye-catching third fresh when 1.66 lengths beaten in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1300m) at the track on June 14.
The Dane Ripper is the key Tiara lead-up race historically and the money is on Firestorm, a Group 1 placegetter when second to Lady Shenandoah in Sydney’s Coolmore Classic back in March, as the improver out of that event this winter.
James McDonald sticks in the saddle looking to claim his first Tiara success.
The danger following closely on the second line of Tatt’s Tiara betting at $4.20 through Ladbrokes.com.au is the local Tony Gollan trained Dane Ripper winner Floozie.
Jumping from barrier nine with regular rider Angela Jones continuing associations, the talented Zoustar four-year-old is out to extend her brilliant winning streak to five straight.
She had a half-length over Tashi to spare on the line last time out here on a Good (3) and is now out to complete the Dane Ripper – Tiara double for the first time since Invincibella (2019).
In outstanding form having earlier won the Gold Coast’s Silk Stocking over this distance on a Heavy track she is the value to go on with the job and bag the Group 1 to retain her unbeaten Eagle Farm record (3:3-0-0).
The other best out of the Dane Ripper trifecta, runner-up Tashi, is also lining-up in the Tattersall’s Tiara field as a single figure fancy at $8 for the Peter Snowden trained Sebring five-year-old to turn the tables on her last start conqueror.
Snowden’s mare has been a perennial placegetter this prep having run second in her three lead-up runs by narrow margins.
Having been knocking on the door all campaign it is now or never for Tashi who drew barrier 12 with Tom Sherry to partner.
Outside the dominant trio out of the Dane Ripper the other best in betting include the resuming Danny O’Brien trained Grinzinger Belle ($10) and Zaszou ($15) for Phillip Stokes coming off a first-up Listed Helen Coughlan Stakes win over Tashi at the track.
The 2025 Tattersall’s Tiara is scheduled to run as Eagle Farm Race 8 at 3:58pm (AEST) on Saturday’s nine-race card.
