Godolphin‘s star colt Broadsiding is a dominant odds-on favourite to grow his Group 1 tally this Saturday in Sydney heading the markets on the 2025 Randwick Guineas.

A three-time elite level winner, the three-year-old son of sire of the moment Too Darn Hot resumed in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) and dominated fresh posting an impressive victory to kick off his autumn.
Historically, the Hobartville is the key lead-up into the Group 1 $1 million Randwick Guineas (1600m) with Celestial Legend (2024) the latest to complete the double last year.
The bulk of the money in Randwick Guineas betting at Ladbrokes.com.au this season looks to be on Broadsiding to be the next with the step-up to a mile to suit.
The young champ is already a dual Group 1 winner over the 1600m having claimed the Champagne Stakes here in Sydney and Brisbane’s J.J. Atkins as a juvenile.
He also won the Golden Rose at 1400m before a Caulfield Guineas fourth and brave third in the Cox Plate results in the spring further cementing his talent.
At the distance second-up on Saturday facing a field of his own age, Broadsiding shapes up as the deserving and hard to beat $1.60 favourite in the markets at Ladbrokes.com.au.
Star hoop James McDonald comes back aboard replacing Zac Lloyd and that only improves this star in the making’s credentials from a gun gate four draw in a small Randwick Guineas field of nine.
Trainer James Cummings has prepared two previous Randwick Guineas winners with Hallowed Crown (2015) in partnership with his late grandfather Bart and then Kementari (2018).
Second elect at Randwick Guineas odds of $4.40 is Swiftfalcon for Team Hawkes jumping one wider from barrier five.
The Exceedance gelding has had eight starts for a trio of wins.
He also resumed in the Hobartville Stakes when second to Broadsiding and is another that will appreciate the step up to a mile on the weekend looking to turn the tables and improve a length for an upset in the Group 1.
No filly has beaten home the boys in the Randwick Guineas since Mosheen back in 2012 and this year the sole filly looking to be the next is the Chris Waller trained Aeliana ($6.50).
Jason Collett partners the progressive daughter of Castelvecchio who was good winning back-to-back Group 3s in the spring before her close second only a quarter length off the winner Another Prophet in Caulfield’s Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m).
She got her autumn underway in the Hobartville and was eye-catching running third a length off Saturday’s top elect and, while she needs to improve to close that gap, she ticks a number of boxes here who will be looming late.
Rounding out the Randwick Guineas contenders currently under $10 for the win is Linebacker ($9.50) for John O’Shea & Tom Charlton.
Zac Lloyd rides the Super Seth gelding from gate six on Saturday with Linebacker third-up after a Group 3 Eskimo Prince second before his sixth in the Hobartville.
The 2025 The Agency Randwick Guineas is set to run as Randwick Race 7 at 3:50pm (AEDT) on Saturday’s 10-race card.
