The bookies are tipping the Richard & Will Freedman-trained Pavitra to continue her rise through the ranks this weekend with the in-form filly heading Australian Oaks 2023 betting in Sydney.

Royal Randwick is host to another four elite level autumn races for Day 2 of The Championships on Saturday including a near capacity field of three-year-old fillies facing off in the Group 1 $1 million The Star Australian Oaks (2400m).
Heading the latest Australian Oaks odds online at $3.30 through Ladbrokes.com.au is American Pharoah filly Pavitra presenting fit fourth-up.
She gets her second go at a mile-and-a-half or further after finishing a length back second to She’s Extreme at Flemington in the spring’s Group 1 VRC Oaks (2500m).
Two back she won the Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic (1600m) with a tearaway four-length victory before her distant second to runaway champ Prowess in Rosehill’s Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m).
With more distance from a good gate two draw on the weekend, and with Prowess a non-acceptor for the Oaks, Pavitra could be the filly to beat in this year’s event.
The danger occupying the second line of ATC Oaks betting at $5 is New Zealand visitor Pennyweka.
Damian Lane partners the Jim Wallace-trained filly from barrier 11 down under with the daughter of Satono Aladdin huge at home last start on March 18 winning the Group 1 NZ Oaks over the distance by an emphatic three lengths.
In an open top half of the market a further two youngsters are also under double-figures for the win with Arts ($7) and Polygon ($8) drawn barriers 10 and five respectively.
Edward Cummings’ lightly-raced Xtravagant filly Arts has just her fourth career start on Saturday up notably in grade and chasing her third win.
After things went amiss for her when dead last over 15 lengths beaten in the Kembla Grange Classic, Arts was able to atone at Randwick last Saturday.
Forgotten in the markets for the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m) she went around at 30/1 before relishing a Heavy (8) track and storming home by over four lengths.
She is on the quick back-up now and sure to enjoy the extra distance as well as any rain keeping the Randwick track in the Soft – Heavy range.
Lance Noble’s Highly Recommended filly Polygon is another Kiwi in the mix coming off to Aussie lead-ups when sixth in the Kembla Grange Classic and seventh in the Vinery.
Other fillies of note after an upset at more generous ATC Oaks odds including Team Snowden’s Pierro filly Pierossa ($13) coming off a fourth in the Vinery and the John O’Shea-trained daughter of Contributer Premise ($17) on the quick back-up after her third in the Adrian Knox.
Trainer John Sargent meanwhile chases a second Australian Oaks victory after his 2015 win with Gust Of Wind and saddles-up three in this year’s field led by Jolted ($15).
The Deep Impact filly is the only other last start winner in the mix along with the NZ Oaks visitor having won a Class 1 at Newcastle over 2100m last time out.
Sargent’s other runners are the Adrian Knox runner-up Mountain Guest ($17) and So You Think filly So Dazzling ($26) who was second in the KG Classic before an unplaced run in the Vinery.
