Sydney’s premiership winning trainer Chris Waller will saddle up five of the sixteen runners and includes Youngstar and Another Dollar who finished first and second in their final Queensland Oaks lead up run in the Group 2 $175,000 Magic Millions The Roses (2000m) at Doomben on May 12.

The Roses winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy will again ride Youngstar who has drawn barrier four while Glyn Schofield takes over from Jeff Lloyd on Another Dollar who will jump from gate two in the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival’s classic for the three year old fillies.

Waller’s other runners in the Queensland Oaks are Miss Shanti (Tye Angland, barrier 1), Impulsive (Corey Brown, barrier 6) and Savacool (James McDonald, barrier 12).

Savacool has made the long trip up from Adelaide after finishing seventh in the Group 1 $500,000 Schweppes Oaks (Australasian Oaks) (2000m) at Morphettville on May 5 and will be stepping up to the 2200m of the Queensland Oaks for the first time.

The Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra trained Sheezdashing and Ciaron Maher’s Group 1 winner Aloisia are also coming off a run in the Australasian Oaks.

Damien Thornton will stick with Sheezdashing who was runner up in the Australasian Oaks and will jump from barrier three in the Queensland Oaks while Aloisia, who finished sixth at Morphettville, has drawn in the middle of the field at barrier seven with Damian Browne booked to ride.

The Anthony Freedman trained Coral Coast has drawn the outside barrier at sixteen with Mark Zahra retaining the ride after the pair finished fourth in The Roses.
