The bookies are having a hard time separating the best two in 2018 The Galaxy betting for Saturday at Rosehill Gardens with class mare In Her Time and known mudlark Jungle Edge battling for top spot in the markets.

The last of the five Golden Slipper Day elite level features, this autumn’s Group 1 $700,000 The Galaxy (1100m) originally drew an over capacity field.
Two scratchings sees 13 hopefuls remain in the mix with Secret Agenda (14) and Pariah (5) both racing in Friday night’s Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) in Melbourne instead due to the wet weather in Sydney.
Currently in the Soft-range, Rosehill is tipped to be in the Heavy range come Saturday and that has affected The Galaxy betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au.
Narrow favourite in The Galaxy odds online at $4 for the win is the widely-drawn In Her Time.
Out wide might prove favourable if there is a wet track and Benjamin Smith’s mare gets the chance to prove she can handle the conditions first-up.
She may be yet to have an official go on Heavy going, but the Time Thief five-year-old is still being kept safe in the markets having won three of her five previous first-up runs.
She is also two-from-three over the short The Galaxy distance and trialled well at home at Newcastle for a four length win over 1000m on March 14.
Last seen running second to Hey Doc when a neck beaten in Moonee Valley’s Group 1 Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes (1200m), fresh and back in Sydney there is plenty to like about In Her Time despite the query over the track conditions.
The proven wet tracker and the one the punters are now coming for in The Galaxy betting is the constantly surprising Mick Bell-trained Dubawi seven-year-old Jungle Edge.
This 48 start veteran is a Heavy track specialist boasting six wins and three minor placings from a dozen goes in the mud.
He returned on March 10 at Randwick on a Good (4) and still managed to place second behind The Everest winner Redzel in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) suggesting he will be even better on the weekend getting conditions to suit.
Fitter for the run, the rain around and proven form in this race having run a quarter-length second to Russian Revolution in last year’s The Galaxy trifecta make the $4.20 odds on Jungle Edge this weekend very attractive.
The ATC The Galaxy is a race known for upset results including the fact seven double-figure hopes won on the trot until the success of the favourite Russian Revolution on a Heavy (10) last season.
There are two other single-figure hopefuls looking to buck the trend this weekend with steady money coming for the big market mover Snitty Kitty ($11 into $5.50) and the well-weighted Viridine ($5.50).
Henry Dwyer’s Snitzel mare Snitty Kitty has run top two in her nine latest starts going back 12 months and her lead-up second to last year’s The Galaxy winner Russian Revolution in Caulfield’s Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) was eye-catching.
Four of the past five The Galaxy winners came off a Melbourne lead-up and Snitty Kitty is a gun over the 1100m (7:3-3-0) also dropping from 53.5kg to 52kg.
Viridine for Godolphin gets in on just 50kg, the Poet’s Voice colt looking to improve on the lead-up fourth when returning in the Challenge Stakes, the return to Rosehill to suit as the three-year-old is undefeated at the track (2:2-0-0).
