The bookmakers are taking no early chances with Gary Portelli’s returning Group 1 winning filly She Will Reign who is the odds-on favourite in Inglis Sprint 2018 betting at Warwick Farm on Saturday.

One of the key support acts on the Breeders Classic Day card, this season’s $250,000 Inglis Sprint (1100m) runs as Warwick Farm Race 3 at 2:00pm (AEDT).
The small seven-starter Inglis Sprint field is packed full of depth however and is the first-up run for the rails-drawn daughter of Manhattan Rain, She Will Reign.
Already a winner of over $3 million in prize money over her seven start career to date, the gun three-year-old is best known for her Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) win in the wet last March.
She Will Reign became a dual Group 1 winner first-up at The Valley in the spring when beating the older horses in late September’s Moir Stakes (1000m).
Things went amiss for her at Randwick in mid-October however when she only managed to run 11th to Redzel in the $10 million The Everest (1200m).
A spell followed and She Will Reign looks set to fire on the weekend against her own kind and retain her undefeated first-up record that currently stands at three wins from three resuming runs.
The current Inglis Sprint odds at Ladbrokes.com.au list She Will Reign, who her Golden Slipper winning jockey Ben Melham partners on the weekend, pays $1.70 to win before she heads south for the Group 1 $500,000 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes Day, February 24.
The biggest danger to She Will Reign in Inglis Sprint betting looking at the early markets is the in-form John Sadler-trained Nature Strip at a quote of $2.60.
The Nicconi gelding is chasing his fourth win on the trot and his fifth overall at career start number six.
Nature Strip’s winning streak started in November last year and he returned with back-to-back Melbourne wins last month.
The latest of those was at Flemington on January 20 in the $250,000 Inglis Dash (1100m), a result he will be out to emulate in his Sydney debut this weekend from barrier three with Ryan Maloney aboard.
Rounding out the single-figure fancies in the Inglis Sprint race this autumn at $9 is the lightly-raced Limbo Soul in gate four.
Having just her third career start the well-bred I Am Invincible filly is prepared by Tim Martin and has trialled twice this summer ahead of her return.
On debut Limbo Soul won a fillies’ maiden over 1100m at Rosehill by over three lengths before returning to the track last March when fifth to Tulip in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m).
It has been nearly a year between runs then for the three-year-old who will be out to prove her autumn credentials against her better-tried rivals.
