The Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) headlines an outstanding nine-race card at Rosehill Gardens today, however a further three black type races will also be run and won.

Race 1 (12:10pm) Schweppes Handicap Results

Positive Problems has led from start to finish to pinch a win in Race 1 on The Run To The Rose Day.

Jockey Blake Shinn allowed Positive Problems to stride forward after jumping well and she set a break-neck speed for her rivals from the outset; ensuring that the field would be strung out along the fence.

Kicking clear early in the final straight, the Sebring mare tired noticeably in the final 200m, but held on to beat a fast-finishing Mariquita in a photo, who flew home from the tail of the field.

Race 2 (12:45pm) TAB Highway Handicap Results

Suncraze has beaten Don’t Give A Damn by the bob of a head in this week’s Highway Handicap at Rosehill Gardens.

Suncraze jumped from the gates well, but was settled back in the Highway Handicap field by jockey Corey Brown as Mossman Gorge and Ferniehirst dictated early terms on pace.

Offered a clear line upon arriving at the final straight, the Henrythenavigator gelding locked in a fierce sprint battle with Don’t Give A Damn, but got the better of his rival in the final strides of the race.

Race 3 (1:20pm) Rydges Parramatta Handicap Results

Quick Defence has produced a perfectly-timed sprint to win the Rydges Parramatta BM81 this afternoon.

Quick Defence has been strong and consistent performer without returning to winning form this time and he appeared as though he would need plenty of luck this afternoon in stepping up in class.

Having experienced a good run in transit within the field, jockey Brenton Avdulla followed Imanui through a gap in the final straight and stormed home to beat the handy field.

Race 4 (2:00pm) Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes Results

Gold Standard has completed an impressive performance to comfortably win the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) this afternoon.

Jockey Josh Parr allowed Gold Standard to stride forward and immediately take up the running in the Stan Fox Stakes, but conceded to The Mission at the bend, who worked to the lead on the outside of the pack.

Offered a clear line upon arriving at the final straight, the Sebring colt stormed clear of his rivals and looked the winner 300m from home; eventually finding the line two lengths ahead of Sanctioned.

Race 5 (2:35pm) Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes Results

Deploy has broken the 1300m track record at Rosehill via a dominant win in the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes this afternoon.

The Fastnet Rock gelding flew the barriers and immediately took up the running; ensuring that the Theo Marks Stakes would be contested at a genuine tempo and stringing the small field out and along the fence.

Kicking clear upon arriving at the final straight, Deploy only continued to find and savaged the line for a near six-length win from an impressive Egg Tart, who is sure to take plenty of benefit from her first-up run.

Race 6 (3:10pm) Group 3 Sheraco Stakes Results

Ravi has flown home to beat a talented field of mares to the line in the Group 3 Sheraco Stakes this afternoon.

Jockey Kerrin McEvoy found an ideal position in transit on the rails and on the heels of early leaders Hussterical, Bonny O’Reilly and Almighty Girl.

The Redoute’s Choice mare was able to take advantage of the break-neck early speed when she received an excellent tow into the race rounding onto the final straight and she produced a superior turn of foot late to win comfortably.

Race 7 (3:50pm) Group 2 The Run To The Rose Results

Menari has stamped himself as the horse to beat in the Group 1 Golden Rose after recording a dominant win in the Group 2 The Run To The Rose (1200m) this afternoon.

Menari was charged with overcoming the outside barrier this afternoon, but flew the gates and had no issue crossing the field; settling into an ideal rhythm approaching the bend.

Immediately responding when asked for an extra effort, the Snitzel colt mustered a superior turn of foot to comfortably beat Pariah and a brave Perast.

  • 3rd – Perast

Race 8 (4:30pm) Fugen Handicap Results

Zumbelina has completed a perfectly-timed ride sprint to beat resounding favourite Tango Rain on the line in Race 8.

The Stratum mare was settled in an ideal position close to the pace this afternoon, while Tango Rain took up the running and did plenty of work in the early stages of the race.

Allowing the mare plenty of time to balance before going for the whip, jockey Glyn Schofield was rewarded for the decision when Zumbelina sprinted to the lead on the fence; poking a head clear over the line.

  • 3rd – Isorich

Race 9 (5:10pm) TAB.com.au Handicap Results

Godolphin import Interlocuter was first past the post in the final race on The Run To The Rose Day, but has been ruled to have impeded the run of Wayanka and subsequently lost the race on protest.

Jockey Tye Angland settled Interlocuter within the field of fourteen horses has Choice Larga, The Pharaoh and Peacock traded early blows on pace.

Working through the field with 400m to travel, Interlocuter found a clear line and mustered a superior turn, but shifted out and into the line of Wayanka, who finished just behind the import on the line; Oklahoma Girl producing arguably the run of the race to finish third.
