A capacity field of fillies and mares has been confirmed for the 2017 Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) at Ipswich Racecourse in Queensland on Saturday.

Lucky Show Girl (barrier 1) is seeking a third-consecutive race win and should prove extremely tough to beat under the conditions of the Gai Waterhouse Classic.
Resuming for a comfortable win in the Book Skyline For PM’s BM70 (1400m) on April 15th, the Show A Heart mare flew home to beat a smart field in the Langs Building Supplies Plate (1200m) last time out on May 17th.
The talented mare will carry only 54kgs when she takes her place in the Gai Waterhouse Classic field and should find a good position behind the pace from the rails draw.
Queen Of Wands returned to the races for a smart win a fortnight ago and should be right in the finish of the Gai Waterhouse Classic, with luck in transit after drawing into the field wide.
Previously saddled by Clarry Conners, Queen Of Wands has produced a number of impressive performances and results throughout her twenty-six career starts and finished second in the Group 3 Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) in January of this year.
Having transferred to the care of Brian and Daniel Guy this time, the Not A Single Doubt mare was too good over 1400m at the Gold Coast on June 3rd and will be tough to beat in the Gai Waterhouse Classic.
The Sydney ranks are well represented in the 2017 Gai Waterhouse Classic field and both Kinshachi (barrier 3) and I Am Zelady (barrier 13) are live chances in the Listed race.
Godolphin mare Kinshachi has been charged with overcoming a race-high 59kgs in the Gai Waterhouse Classic, but has drawn ideally into the field and should carry plenty of benefit into the race.
Third in the Group 3 Godolphin Crown (1300m) on April 29th, the Commands mare was luckless in running in the Group 3 Dark Jewel Classic (1400m), but responded with a credible performance for sixth in the Listed Coughlan Stakes (1200m) last time out.
The Gai Waterhouse Classic is right in the wheelhouse of I Am Zelady and her class should count for plenty in the race.
Running on well to finish a credible seventh in the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) on May 6th, the I Am Invincible mare arrived in Brisbane for sixth in the Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1300m) on May 27th.
