Sold For Song Included in Sunshine Coast Guineas Nominations
Twenty-three three-year-olds have been included in nominations for Saturday’s 2016 Group 3 Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m); the first race taken out by champion mare Winx during her current nine race unbeaten streak.

Mr Individual produced a smart effort in a Gold Coast barrier trial last week, and has been included by Leon & Troy Corstens in 2016 Sunshine Coast Guineas nominations.
Mr Individual has posted a number of commendable efforts on his way to a three wins from eight starts record, but has been something of an inconsistent performer throughout.
Clearly requiring a run when eleventh in the Group 2 Euclase Stakes (1200m) first-up on May 7th, the Starspangledbanner colt responded well when fourth in the Le Pine Funerals Handicap (1400m) on May 28th but again failed to fire when tenth in the Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m) a fortnight ago.
Tivaci has run in a number of notable black type races this year and has also been included in 2016 Sunshine Coast Guineas nominations.
Claiming three wins and two minors through his eleven career starts so far, Tivaci returned to racing this year for a smart win in the Bet365 BM75 (1200m) on February fourth before breaking though for his first black type win in the talent-rich Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) on February 20th.
While failing to figure in his next two starts, the High Chaparral colt returned from a freshen-up for fourth in the Group 3 Fred Best Classic (1350m) on May 21st before boxing on for sixth in the Queensland Guineas two weeks ago.
Sold For Song has arguably been the standout performer of the local contingent through the 2016 Brisbane Winter Carnival and has been included in 2016 Sunshine Coast Guineas nominations.
Purchased for only $2500, Sold For Song immediately stamped herself as a filly to follow when debuting in November for success in a Caloundra minor over 1000m, before progressing to second in the Mittys Handicap (1110m) and success in the Listed Gold Edition Plate (1200m) on December 12th.
Resuming this time for a close second in the Listed Mick Dittman Plate (1000m) on April 23rd, the Collate filly again finished a close second in the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas (1200m) before a luckless run for 12th in the Fred Best Classic.
Responding well for third in the Queensland Guineas, Sold For Song will carry winning form into the Sunshine Coast Guineas after taking out the Listed Daybreak Lover Stakes (1400m) last weekend.
The 2016 Sunshine Coast Guineas field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday.
