Trainer Mick Price has been thrilled with the benefit Extreme Choice has reportedly taken from his time away from racing and has revealed the two-year-old will likely contest the 2016 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) on February 27th second-up.

Extreme Choice has only appeared at the races once competitively but more than stamped his claims as one to watch with a commanding performance for success over notable company for a $290,000 win in the Inglis Nursery (1000m) at Randwick on December 12th.
Price told Racing Ahead the Not A Single Doubt colt is on track for a racing return in the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on February 6th; three weeks prior to the 2016 Blue Diamond Stakes.
“He had a busy little trip to Sydney with trials and everything but from the 12th of December he had the rest of that month off,” Price said.
“He looks like he’s jumping out of his skin and has done really well.
“I reckon I’m going to run him on the 6th of February at Caulfield in a race like the Chairman’s Handicap and that leaves me three weeks into the Blue Diamond. He doesn’t need too much and I don’t need to go into the Previews or the Preludes.”
Veteran hoop Glyn Schofield partnered Extreme Choice to his two-length success in the Inglis Nursery and is booked to take the ride on the colt first-up.
“Glyn Schofield I have spoken to and he holds the ride at this stage on the 6th with a view to riding him in the Blue Diamond,” Price added.
“He’s very fast and has good stamina over 1000m. I suppose the only thing about him with be how he goes at 1200m but he’s a robust, medium-sized colt and I think he’ll be alright.”
Extreme Choice is currently rated outright $6 favourite in early 2016 Blue Diamond Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au.
