Exosphere Favourite in 2015 Skyline Stakes Odds

A small field of just seven two-year-old colts and geldings will tackle the Group 2 Skyline Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm on Saturday.

The lightly raced juveniles are hard to split with four of the seven offering single figure odds in the betting market at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Exosphere is one of two Godolphin juveniles contesting the race and is the $2.30 firm favourite. The colt will enjoy the inside jump from barrier one with James McDonald to ride.

Exosphere made his debut back in November over 1100 metres at Rosehill but finished in last place after he was over raced and worked too hard to find the front. Following a three month spell, the colt resumed to win his maiden by an impressive four and a quarter lengths at Kembla Grove on February 14.

After settling down in last position about six lengths from the leader, Exosphere was taken to the outside on cornering for home and quickened to hit the front with 250m to go before drawing away in a highly impressive performance.

Of course in any juvenile race, a winner is never certain. Exosphere will face tough competition from his six rivals in the 2015 Skyline Stakes, three of which are at single figure prices.

  • #3 Sebring Sun ($4) – The Gary Portelli-trained colt has yet to win his maiden despite three career starts. He was fifth in the Listed Lonhro Plate (1100m) two weeks ago, but just one length off winner Haptic, however and has won his two barrier trials. Sebring Sun will need to overcome a wide start from the outside gate in the Skyline Stakes.
  • #4 Wolf Cry ($4)Peter & Paul Snowden’s colt has finished third in his two career starts including the Lonhro Plate on February 14, which he missed out on by less than one length. Wolf Cry will enjoy a jump from barrier four with Hugh Bowman to ride.
  • #6 Mogador ($7) – the second of two John O’Shea-trained juvenile runners in the Skyline Stakes, Mogador will jump from barrier six with James Doyle as hoop. Mogador has just one career start to his name, finishing runner-up to stable mate Exosphere in his maiden two weeks ago, but did win two barrier trials, including one by nearly six lengths back in October.

The 2015 Skyline Stakes is one of two juvenile races running at Warwick Farm this Saturday. Check out the fixed-price live odds for the race below and make sure to place your bets at Ladbrokes.com.au for the best prices available.
