With the 2013 Adelaide Cup just over an hour away, trainer Kylie Huxtable is remaining upbeat about Waratone’s chances in the $400,000 race.
Waratone will go into the 2013 Adelaide Cup with six wins under his belt after 21 career starts and with more than $150,000 in prize money to his name.

The four-year-old placed fifth in the Group 3 Lord Reims Stakes last start and will be looking to go four places better when he lines up for the Adelaide Cup 2013.
The Mossman gelding has drawn barrier eight for the 2013 Adelaide Cup and Huxtable is confident the gate is perfectly suited to Waratone’s race style.
“A lot of the speed is drawn out wider so hopefully they’ll come across and we’ll get a nice run just off of that main speed group – a bit better than midfield,” Huxtable said.
“I’m sure if he can have a cosy run in transit he will run (the 3200m) out.
“He’s had so much bad luck in his last three runs, we can only be positive and hope we get a bit better luck. We’re in it with a good chance.”
Waratone is currently paying odds of $17 to win the 2013 Adelaide Cup at bookmaker.com.au and is on the ninth line of betting for the race.
