2010 Colonel Reeves Stakes Final Field & Barrier Draw

The 2010 Colonel Reeves Stakes final field and barrier draw has been released in anticipation of the feature race to be held at Ascot Racecourse this Saturday, November 13, as part of the elite racing line-up of WA Guineas Day.

The $125,000 Group 3 Colonel Reeves Stakes (1100m) has attracted a final field of 11 gallopers including reigning champion Revolition drawn out wide in barrier 11.

Paul Jordan’s five-year-old gelding Revolition is set to carry just 53kg on Saturday, making them a top light-weight chance to win back-to-back editions of the Colonel Reeves Stakes.

Last year’s third placegetter Ma Ma Machine is also back again for 2010, the Adam Durrant-trained six-year-old coming off a number of strong spring runs and dropping right back in the weights for Saturday.

Sure to start at the top of the Colonel Reeves Stakes betting markets is Hussonet gelding Werd, coming off a record-breaking win in The Cannonball (1000m) where they beat Revolition and Ma Ma Machine.

Werd is drawn midfield in barrier six and is due to be ridden by regular jockey Craig Staples.

Other notable Colonel Reeves Stakes runners include Prince Of Wales Stakes winner Waratah’s Secret, David Harrison’s super consistent four-year-old drawn in barrier seven, and Fred Kersley’s in-form Scenic eight-year-old Marasco coming off back-to-back wins at Ascot and set to carry a heft top-weight of 60kg.

The 2010 Seacorp Colonel Reeves Stakes is scheduled as Race 7 at Ascot on Saturday, one race before the feature event of the day, the $250,000 Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m).

Betting on all the Ascot features is set to open at bookmakers around the country shortly, so get ready for the best odds and options by signing up with Luxbet now!
